Whirlpool Giving F9E1 Trouble Code - HELP!

Hi guys! Recently I’ve run into some issues with my Whirlpool washer; It’s giving me the F9E1 code (and occasionally F9E2), which tells me it’s a “long drain” issue. I’ve removed the filter on the suction side of the pump, nothing blocking it, I’ve removed the drain line from the drum to the pump, no issues there, I’ve removed the drain line from the pump to my house plumbing, no issues there. The resistance checked out fine with the drain pump, and there’s nothing inside the impeller housing. The sensing line from the drum to the pressure switch isn’t blocked, and I replaced the pressure switch just a couple days ago. Since the pump seems fine, I decided to go ahead and replace the control board, which I did today, and I’m still getting the same error!

The washer will do everything it’s supposed to do until just after the final spin cycle, it locks its’ door, and beeps and flashes the F9E2 code. I then unplug the washer for a min, plug it back in, put it in the drain and spin cycle, and it’ll pump out the water and spin just fine.

I’m totally lost now, I don’t know what else I could check/replace. As I said, the pressure switch is new, the control board is new, and the drain pump seems fine. What else could it be???

These Duets are almost impossible to diagnose, even for Whirlpool factory techs. What they do is to start replacing parts until they replace the ones that fix it.

You have done all the right things, so now you should focus on the motor control board and the door lock assembly and the wiring between the door lock assembly and the control board. If you buy the parts from this site and they are not needed you can return them.

That seems like the route I’m going to have to go, unfortunately. Do you think the door lock mechanism could be part of my trouble?

Yes, one of the reasons these Duets are hard to diagnose is things like the lock mechanism which should not be in the equation, are.

I’m currently having this same issue w/ this model. Did a solution come out of this? Thanks Much
