Ok thanks, I’ll check them. Model number is Whirlpool SGDS800HQ0 (think i might have intially typed “5” vs. “S”). Whirlpool gas dryer with Costco/Kirkland badging.
Found that:
-Sensor continuity good, at ~0 ohms (still);
-Main thermostat, has 4 leads;
with ~0 ohms between two of them and
approx. 7k ohms between the 2nd set of leads.
-Backup thermostat at 0 ohms
Whether hot or cold, the resistances above do not seem to change.
The coils are on top of the regulator. You can see them on the break down of your dryer.
Hope that helps.
Gene was more help than I was. Glad he jumped in!

I have the same problem as DRS. Model #LG5801XKW0 Whirlpool
Where is the coil? Or what else could it be?
I have the same problem but when I loosened the limiter, part 15 ( Model SGDS800HQ0, ) the burner lit everytime. When it was tight it would fail to light. Anyone know what this brass screw/cap actually does? thanks
