Hi Gene,
Finally turn the oven on last Sunday and so far it is still working. So I guess the hotness is OK! Might be just the wrong fuse the last time. Thanks a lot for your help!

You are welcome Aimin. I’m glad you were able to fix it.

I’m Back!!!
I previously posted about the dreaded E6 F2 code back in March 2011.
Here’s that post.
I have a Whirlpool Akkubake Model RBD275PDB12 double oven in black. LIke so many others, I got the E6 F2 code of death after Mrs. Doc used the cleaning cycle. The panel was blank, the only thing that worked was the oven light. Per directions read earlier in this thread, I disconnected the control panel/control board connector ribbon after tripping the breaker. Powered back up and waited. Finally saw a E1 F2 code, but it too is now gone. The next morning the E6 F2 code was back.
I replaced the control panel and it fixed the problem. Unfortunately just over a year later I got the same code again. Figures, since the part had a year warranty. This time though, after I disconnected the panel/board connector ribbon and powered back up, I’ve got nothing but a blank screen. Does this mean I need a control board this time around?
Thanks (again)
Doc
Hi Doc,
Reconnect everything back together and give it a try. Post the results.

Hi Gene,
Did that, nothing on the pad overnight. I’m also pretty sure it’s not the transformer because I forgot to turn off the power and got a little buzzz when I touched part of the control board.
Doc
Doc,
If the display is blank and this is not the transformer then the control board has gone bad. Unfortunately this part has been discontinued. Looks like it’s time for a new oven. Sorry for that bad news but it could be a good news for your wife. Lol.

Well that’s a real bummer. Just for kicks, I repeated the whole process, reconnected the connector ribbon, and powered back up. The panel beeped a few times, but no code appeared overnight. For what it’s worth (probably not much), the over light still works.
Any chance of getting the control panel rebuilt? I really can’t afford a new oven.
Doc
Doc,
It maybe possible. Try to Google it.

Gene, You helped smitty33… my problem is the same but my model number is RBD245PDB10 It is a black, Whirlpool, electric, in-wall, double oven. Thanks so much!!!

[QUOTE=Gene;28777]smitty33,
Open the lower oven door and remove the screw on each side trim. Pull the trim out from the bottom and slide it down to release from the control panel tab.
Remove the screw on each side of the control panel. Pull the control panel out from the bottom and push it up to release from the tabs.
Unplug the control panel ribbon from the slot on the control board and clean it, using an eraser. Plug the ribbon back into the slot.
Check the low voltage transformer for continuity across the two red and the two blue wires. If any of pairs is open then the transformer has to be replaced.
Reconnect all back, turn the power “on” and post the results.

It initially had the E6 F2 error code with about 9 audible beeps. It now has no lights on the display and the only item that works is the interior oven light whether by the touch pad or opening the door. Nothing else is functional and the display is black. Intermittently, the approx 9 rapid, audible beeps will sound but nothing else. Thanks.
Most likely the problem is a bad control board. Unfortunately the part has been discontinued and is no longer available. Looks like it’s time for a new oven unless you can find some place where it can be rebuild. The part number for the control board is 8302967.

Good news! Sent my control board to ************************.com and they were able to repair it. And at about 20% of the cost of a new oven. Funny, the repairs carry a two year warranty while a new control panel, when they were available, only had a year warranty.

Sorry about the fopaa regarding my naming the website.
OK, so the cavity programming instructions read like an Apollo 13 sequence and include a “Cancel” button. Problem is, there is no such button on my oven. Anybody know which button is the “cancel” button?
Thanks,
Doc
Hi Doc,
Try to use the “upper off” button instead of “cancel”.
Gene.
So I have the same error code…E6, F2 that everyone else has been getting. Ordered the panel and assembly parts (I believe those are the names) and it worked fine for a few days. Now I went to start the oven and many buttons will not press…like the start button. My ovens are RDB245PDQ14. I would appreciate any help

Open the control panel and check the ribbon cable connection to the control board. Make sure it’s plugged in all the way.
