whirlpool evap fan test

How do you check the evap fan to see if it is good?I’m pretty sure the fan isn’t working because food defrosted on top rack but stayed frozen on bottom. Is there a switch or board that could be bad that makes the fan work?PLEASE HELP!

Hi.

Open the freezer back panel. You will see the evaporator assembly with the motor above it. If the motor is not running check for 120v at it’s contacts (you will need a voltmeter), make sure the freezer is running.

If there is 120v but motor isn’t running - replace it.
