I have a whirlpool duet model WFW8200SQ02 that will not completly drain. I removed the hose and blew it out and straightened it out and can see clearly through the hose so it is not clogged, there is plenty of power at teh outlet. The hose is not 96inches high about 48 inches off the floor so it is not the hose like the manual suggests. Does any one have any ideas what it may be before I start to tear apart teh machine to trouble shoot. the cloths are comming out soaking wet and can run through a cycle for hours because I believe it has some sort of sensor to know when the cloths are dry enough to end the cycle. Help? Thanks
I assume the clearing you did was on the outside drain hose. If so, then take off the bottom service panel and clean out the pump, trap area and internal hoses and see if that improves things.
Thanks, That fixed it. I actually took the rear panel off and removed the hose from the drum to the pump and there was a sock in there and a lot of lint in the pump trap… the machine is running fine,.
there was a lot of socks under the large ruber gasket around the door but I dont believe that had much of an affect.
Thanks for the help
Great, glad you got it going at no cost and thanks for updating everyone.
After replacing the pump it still wouldn’t drain. Thought about it for a couple of days, verified that the pump was working as it should and thought that it might not be getting any water.
Took off the piece coming from the bottom of the tub (where there is a ball float valve) and it was completely clogged with a HUGE hairball.
Wash, rinse, repeat – works like brand new now.
Also might help with the mildew problems that people are talking about.
