i have a fairly new (less than 1 year) Whirlpool duet dryer and the control panel is completely unresponsive. It is not because it is locked. i have tried the unlocking steps and it does nothing. i have also tried re-setting it by turning the breaker on and off and it did nothing. Appliance repair guy came for a “diagnostic” visit. spent 10 seconds looking at it and said, Your control panel is not working.. you need to replace it.
this will cost $350 for parts and $150 for labour (in Toronto). does anyone have experience with this? is it worth repairing? i am ticked because the machine is less than a year old (and no, i don’t know if i have a warranty, because i can’t find the purchase paperwork - silly me).
i’m really new and inexperienced in this sort of stuff (recently separated) so any advice will be really helpful.

If you will provide the complete model number of the dryer I may be able to look up the part for you. Also, you should contact the Whirlpool and give them a model and serial numbers so they can check if the dryer is still under the warranty.
