Whirlpool Duet - Cleaned Filter, now I have a leak

I was getting the dreaded F2 error and found that the problem is related to a clogged filter or pump problem. I removed the filter (first time in years! and that’s with 4 kids!!!) and it was nasty. I cleaned it out and reinstalled it and ran the Duet through a clean cycle. The pump worked flawlessly.

The problem I have now is that there is a water leak around the pump. The leak is NOT coming from the replaced filter. I screwed it down tight and checked with a dry cloth to see if perhaps the water was coming from there and it’s not. It seems to be coming from the pump itself. Is this unusual? Could I have disturbed something when cleaning the filter? Where should I go from here?

Thanks all!

What is the complete model number of the washer?

Gene.

Yeah, I seemed to type that wrong. It’s a GHW9150PW4. I removed the pump assembly today to check it out. I didn’t see any cracks or anything. The water seems to be leaking from where the pump attaches to the filter. I separated the pump from the filter and cleaned it up real good. The gasket looked fine. I slathered it up with silicon grease and put everything back together and it still leaked - perhaps more than before. So I’m picking up a new pump assembly tomorrow. $120.00 for the kit. Oh well, I tried.
