Whirlpool dryer roller, does it have bearing? it doesn't spin freely

Like to ask for expertise on dryer roller & tension belt roller please.

I received the rollers, but they don’t appear to freely rotate (both drum rollers and tension belt roller). Is that normal?

I would have expected the metal part should freely rotate against the plastic body, similar to roller-blade wheels.

I’m just wondering if parts are defective or incorrect. If I put them on as is, I would expect the center shaft would get worn out?

I would normally take apart the dryer, but I’m trying to save some time (though it’s squeaky, it’s still working somewhat)

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

No there is not a bearing built into the wheels.

Yes they will wear the shafts down but it will take a very, very long time.
The wheels are softer than the shafts.

Thanks for your feedback denman, appreciate it.

You’re probably right. Though metal to metal contact without bearings, it’ll probably take long time before shaft gets worn. I guess somewhat makes sense also that if bearing was used, then it could potential to fail due to high temperature environment.

I’ll take my dryer apart this weekend for replacement, so i’ll confirm the originals as well.

thanks again, this site and you guys are awesome! cheers.
