Whirlpool dryer no heat

dryer runs, has good air flow, element looks good and shows continuity, thermal fuse has continuity, as do the thermostats, it is getting 240v, and shows 240v at the element when running but no heat. any ideas

The element must be opening, could be it has an unusual problem re: heats a little coil heats a little and the connection opens or something else very weird.
Are you measuring across the actual coil?
If yes then, since it has 240 across but will not heat the only
explanation is that it is open.

i am getting 240v at the tabs directly outside the case that holds the coils. i get continuity from those tabs as well as testing coils directly, inside the case.element doesnt heat up at all not even a little. sounds like i might be better off replacing the dryer than buying parts. im bafffled by this one, dryers are usually simple to figure out.

I am assuming that you are measuring across the two connectors on the white ceramic insulator.
Correct?

It definitely is baffling but the only thing that makes sense is that the heating coil is opening when voltage is applied.
I cannot see it being ghost voltage as you get the full 240 volt reading.
Did you remove at least one wire from the heating coil when you measure it for resistance. This prevents you from reading an alternate/parallel circuit path. Also use the most sensitive resistance scale, element should be around 10 ohms

yes i am measuring circuit using the connectors on the white ceramic insulator, and yes i removed a wire from the element. i will check tomorrow when i get a chance to make sure i’m getting around 10 ohms.

Sounds to me that you are doing everything correctly so I am also stumped!!
