On the Whirlpool WED8900BC0, there are no separate threaded inserts or nuts for the leveling legs ( Whirlpool W10813918 Dryer Leveling Foot | Genuine OEM Part ). The bottom of the dryer cabinet is stamped (pressed) during manufacturing to form raised, flanged openings, and those flanges are the threaded portion that the leveling legs screw into.
When installing the legs:
Lay the dryer carefully on its side or back (protect the finish with cardboard or a blanket).
Locate the four raised openings in the bottom corners of the cabinet.
Start each leveling leg by hand to avoid cross-threading.
It may take some effort at first because the steel flange grips the threads tightly.
Turn the leg clockwise until several threads are engaged, then adjust the height after the dryer is standing upright.
Once the dryer is in position, use a level to adjust each leg until the cabinet is stable and does not rock.
If a leg will not start, inspect the stamped flange for damage or debris. Since the cabinet itself provides the threads, forcing the leg at an angle can damage the flange and make installation difficult.
