the dishwasher will fill with water on first cycle then only make clicking noise until dry cycle starts.
Probably need to take a look at the motor and check it with a meter. It sounds like all you’re hearing is the timer advancing through the cycle.
You won’t get any washing or draining action if the motor doesn’t run.

thx is motor difficult to install? i am a little mechanically inclined
If the motor is bad, it’s rather easy to swap out. Remove the access panels under the door. There will be tabs on the side of the motor and pump assembly which you will turn in. The entire assembly will lift out from the inside of the tub.
Of course you need to remove power to unit, get rid of any water remaining in the tub, and be prepared to mop up water that spills when you remove the hoses.

sounds easy enough, what kind of meter to test motor and how do i test it?
