Any help would be appreciated. My Whirlpool WDF320PADS2 WDF320PADS2 Whirlpool Dishwasher Parts & Free Repair Help - AppliancePartsPros fills and drains fine, but it’s not actually cycling. It fills, sits for a bit, gives the dishes a bit of a steam, then drains. It’s been this way for over a month. I’ve been using it as a drying rack in the meantime, and because water will pool at the bottom I will occasionally run a 1-hr cycle just to effectively drain the water that drips off the hand-washed clean dishes. A couple days ago when I did this, I actually heard it spraying the dishes. Excitment! I ran one load effectively, but when I tried to run another I was back to the previous issue. Any ideas?
Hi,
This dishwasher use two motors. One for washing only and one for draining only.
Filling and draining only sounds like the wash motor is not running. That would have to be investigated when the problem is occurring. Power tested to the wash motor but it is not running usually means a new wash motor time. No power to the wash motor when it should be running could be a board issue, broken wire, etc.

This could be a motor, wire, or control failure. If you have a multimeter, you can do 3 tests that would identify what the failure is. Step 1 would be removing the front door panel, finding the two light blue wires at connection P14, and testing from wire to wire for 120 Volts AC when a cycle is going. If voltage is not resent after 2 minutes of starting a cycle, the main control has failed. If voltage is present, the cycle can be canceled, the power supply to the dishwasher turned off, the blue wires disconnected from the control and tested for resistance. If there is a resistance reading between 5-15 Ohms, the circulation motor has an internal issue and would need to be replaced. If there is not a resistance reading, the circulation pump motor would need to be tested directly to identify what has failed depending on what resistance is found.
