Good evening. I have a Whirlpool compact dryer (MOD lew0050pq2). As of today, the power doesn’t come on. I noticed that the power switch (#5 in control panel parts diagram) doesn’t lock into place when we depress it. It simply returns to the original position. If I recall, whenever we turned the power on, that switch would lock into a “shorter” position. Could this be my problem and how difficult is it to replace? Any help would be appreciated.

Very likely the problem is a bad switch but before order the new switch you may want to check it for continuity.
