Whirlpool Cabrio motor replacement

hi there, the motor burned out on our whirlpool cabrio dryer wgd6600vw1, what would we need to replace this ourselves? and how difficult is the replacement - is their a repair manual? Thank you! The dryer is less than a year and a half old!

There’s a lot to do to access the motor, but it’s relatively easy and can be done with basic hand tools.

[FONT=ArialMT]2. Turn off gas supply to dryer.[/FONT]
[FONT=ArialMT]3. Raise the lint screen lid and remove the two screws from the top of the lint screen air duct.[/FONT]
[FONT=ArialMT]4. Partially open the dryer door.[/FONT][/LEFT]
[FONT=ArialMT]5. [/FONT][FONT=Arial-BoldMT]To remove the cabinet front:[/FONT]
[LEFT][FONT=Arial-BoldMT][FONT=ArialMT]a) While lifting the front corners of the cabinet top, (see the top right photo),[/FONT][/FONT][FONT=Arial-BoldMT][FONT=Arial-BoldMT]press a putty knife against the left and right top locks and release them from [/FONT][/FONT][FONT=Arial-BoldMT][FONT=Arial-BoldMT]the top. Rotate the cabinet top up and rest it against a wall.[/FONT]
[FONT=Arial-BoldMT][FONT=Arial-BoldMT]b) Disconnect the door switch connector from the harness connector.[/FONT][/FONT][FONT=Arial-BoldMT]
[FONT=Arial-BoldMT]c) Remove the two 5/16[/FONT][FONT=LucidaGrande]˝ [/FONT][FONT=ArialMT]hex-head screws from the cabinet front.[/FONT]

[FONT=ArialMT]4. Reach under the drum to the drive motor and push the idler wheel arm to relieve the spring tension on the belt, then slide the belt off the idler and motor pulleys.[/FONT][/LEFT]
[FONT=ArialMT][FONT=ArialMT]5. Loosen the two top and remove the two bottom 5/16[/FONT]
[LEFT][FONT=LucidaGrande]˝ [/FONT][FONT=ArialMT]hex-head screws from the front bulkhead.[/FONT]

[FONT=ArialMT]6. Lift and unhook the two top bulkhead keyhole slots from the screws, and remove the bulkhead from the dryer.[/FONT]

[FONT=ArialMT]a) Slide the belt off the back of the drum [/FONT][FONT=ArialMT]and remove it.[/FONT][FONT=ArialMT]
[LEFT][FONT=ArialMT]b) Pull the drum out the front of the cabinet and remove it.[/FONT]

[LEFT][FONT=ArialMT]the drum and belt, make sure that the hole in[/FONT]
[FONT=ArialMT]the drum is toward the rear of the unit, (see[/FONT]
[FONT=ArialMT]the above photo), and that both the front and[/FONT]
[FONT=ArialMT]rear drum felt seals are flared out and not[/FONT][/LEFT]
[FONT=ArialMT]folded under the edges of the drum.[/FONT]
[LEFT][FONT=ArialMT][FONT=ArialMT]5. [/LEFT]

[/FONT][LEFT][FONT=Arial-BoldMT]To remove the drive motor [/FONT]
[LEFT][FONT=ArialMT]a) Place a 13/16[/LEFT]
[/LEFT]
[/FONT][LEFT][FONT=LucidaGrande]˝ [/FONT][FONT=ArialMT]open end wrench on the back of the blower wheel, and a[/FONT]
[LEFT][FONT=ArialMT]7/16[/FONT][FONT=LucidaGrande]˝ [/FONT][FONT=ArialMT]open end or adjustable wrench on the front of the drive motor shaft[/FONT]
FONT=ArialMT. Turn the drive motor shaft to the right (clockwise) and loosen the[/FONT][/LEFT]
[FONT=ArialMT]blower wheel (left-hand thread).[/FONT]
[LEFT][FONT=ArialMT][FONT=ArialMT]b) Lift the top tab, and disconnect the wire harness connector from the drive motor.[/FONT]
[FONT=ArialMT][FONT=ArialMT]c) Remove the front and rear clamps from the drive motor and its mounting bracket. To remove a clamp, press down on one end, and unhook it from the bracket tab.[/FONT][/FONT]
