Baked dinner…several hours later, when unit was almost completely cool, it suddenly beeped two long beeps followed by three shorter beeps. I looked up at it, because no one had touched it, to see the display totally dark. Buttons beep when touched, interior lights turn on, but ovens will not power on. Suggestions?

I do not know what the beeps mean, perhaps someone else will jump in with this info.
Try removing power from the unit for a couple minutes, to see if it will reset.
If it does not then odds are that the control board is shot.
