on one of my burners the small red light that is on when the surface is hot stays on all of the time. do i need to buy the entire burner assy or is there another part that will fix this problem

I could not find a wiring diagram for a JES9800AAB the attached is for a JES9800BAB. Hopefully it is a close match to yours.
Looks like you have to buy the complete element but I would check with the parts people just to be sure.
