I need to replace the glass stove top on my Maytag Gemini Electric Range. It cracked in multiple places.
I cannot find the model number, even though I have looked in both of the ovens (it has a dual oven). Is the model number behind the range – that is, do I need to pull it out to find it? The only thing that I found on the rear is a pamphlet (stuffed in an envelope) for technicians which has multiple model numbers on it.
Actually, it’s a dual oven, so there is no storage drawer underneath. Any other ideas? In theory, it’s on the backguard – does anyone know where the back guard is located? (Near the back, I’m guessing :))
I found the model and serial number. It is on an oblong-shaped plate which is screwed in to the back of the oven towards the top. The plate is screwed on in a way that the salient information doesn’t face outwards (maybe this is to prevent the information from fading or rubbing off). The plate has to be unscrewed and flipped over to see the model, serial, etc. So…problem solved!
