I put a new defrost timer switch in and it went bad in no time at all. Or at least it’s doing the exact same thing that it was doing before, which is not cooling down enough on the refriderator side and the coils are frosting over. Please give me a clue. Thanks,

It is an electronic part so any noise spikes/surges on the line can take it out.

Could be it was a defective board.
Check the warranty on it from whoever you bought it from.
Check the defrost thermostat.
It should be 0 ohms when frozen but when thawed (open) it should be around 240,000 ohms.
If it is deformed/bulged replace it even if it measures OK.
