Main Symptom: water will not dispense
What happens & when: you can hear the solenoid working when the lever is pressed. I have water going to the filter and the ice maker makes ice. I thought the water line was frozen. is there a way to access the water line through the filter housing? any help would be greatly appreciated

Parts or tests already tried: replaced filters, emptied and let fridge/freezer thaw

I do not understand your photo and what does this have to do with the water line. As I stated before it will make ice. The water will not dispense. I have tried the obvious solutions..unplugged it for 5 days. Replaced both water filters. Checked for blockages

Hi, here’s a quick test you can do to figure out if the water line is frozen inside the door or if the water inlet valve is the problem.

  1. Remove the top hinge cover.
    Remove the plastic cover over the top left door hinge of the refrigerator.
  2. Find the water line connection.
    Near the hinge and wiring harness, you should see the plastic water line and its quick-connect fitting.
  3. Disconnect the water line.
    Push the small collar on the fitting inward while gently pulling the water tube outward. The line should release from the fitting.
  4. Place the line into a bucket.
    Take the water line coming from the refrigerator cabinet and point it into a bucket or container.
  5. Test the dispenser.
    Have someone press and hold the water dispenser lever while you watch the line.
  6. Check what happens.
    • If water shoots out of the line: Your water valve and water supply are working. The problem is most likely a frozen or blocked water line inside the refrigerator door.
    • If no water comes out but you hear the valve click: The water inlet valve may be receiving power but not actually opening. In that case, the water inlet valve at the lower back of the refrigerator will most likely need to be replaced.

This test will help narrow down which direction you need to go before replacing any parts.
