Water Temp on Warm Setting is too cold

Washer works fine, but when the wash temp is set on “warm”, the water is too cold. Its about the same temp as the cold water rinse. Is a temperature adjustment possible on this machine?

On the “hot” setting, it delivers straight hot water, which we don’t use very often.

Have you measured the water temperature? On warm setting is suppose to be no more than 78°F for the wash cycle. It could feel not really warm on touch.

If the temperature is less than 78°F then, most likely, the problem is a bad ATC switch but there is a small chance for the water inlet valve to be bad as well.

Check for 120 VAC to the hot water valve solenoid during the water fill while the temperature set for warm water.

If there was no power, replace the ATC switch. If there was proper power but hot water valve did not open, replace the water inlet valve.

Gene.

I checked the “warm” water temp and found it at 79°. Thanks for the reply and info. I guess 78° would be considered warm water up in Minnesota in the winter, but here in So Calif that’s more like cold water. I wished Whirlpool hadn’t set the control on the water temp this way. I won’t buy another WP product in this lifetime. This particular machine seems to be the bottom of the barrel in the washing machine world. Thanks again for the info!
