Water not making it to inlet valve (appears not)

Hi, I have a side by side GE gshs5kgxgcss. Water became progressively slow until it finally stopped and no ice either. I tested water pressure and it’s fine. I noticed that the line goes from the house to the upper back of the fridge into the filter and then down to the inlet valve. I have seen that the water appears not to travel passed the water filter. I tested this by disconnecting the line into inlet valve and turning the water on and saw no water come out.

I noticed that as I had the filter off, I pressed the little knob in where the filter rests and see just a tiny bit of water come out to where the filter would be connected. I figured that the little switch that the water filter presses on might be clogged and not allowing water to filter through the filter into the system.

Has anyone had this issue? What is the next step? it looks like a mess to take that part out.

It really sounds like a clogged filter or calcium build up at the source (where the small line taps into the water supply.

Hi, yep, I bypassed the filter connection all together by routing the water line straight to the inlet valves and it worked. I’m trying to find th part number to the water inlet system that the filter connects to. Anybody know? this tap water tastes nasty.. lol

Hi.
