Your water valve is probably leaking and letting water pass through. Turn the water off under the sink or wherever it is located. If it stops, the valve needs to be replaced. If it still puts water in, the drain is backing up into the tub. Check the drain hose placement under the sink; there should be a loop that keeps water from flowing down toward the dishwasher.
