Ice accumulation on evaporator fan shroud
Ice accumulates on the evaporator fan shroud until it prevents the fan from turning, then the refrigerator stops working.
The ice maker and water fill tube have no visible issues, but there is a trail of ice on the wall above the evaporator fan, so there seems to be a leak up above. I don’t see where it’s coming from.
Check while the ice maker is filling for water overflowing the ice maker or water from the fill tube missing the ice maker fill cup.
It was hard to see if there was an issue with the fill tube, but I put in a new one. The new one was much longer than the original. When I cut it down I left it a bit longer than the original. I’ll give it some time and see if the problem persists.
Problem seems to be resolved. I still don’t see what was wrong with the original fill tube, but that was apparently the problem.
