THE water hose connection in the back of the Matag refrigerator came loose and was shooting out water. I reconnected the hose and it continued to spew. I found the hose inside the freezer where the water feeds the ice maker was frozen so I unplugged the unit and melted the ice in that tube. I reconnected the water feed hose in the back, but it continued to freeze the water inside the freezer. Is there something I am overlooking or a specific part I need. I looked into two possible parts. One was a Valve - Dual Outlet (part #61005626 for $33.50) or the Inlet Valve (part #12001892 for $35.74). I wanted to see if you could advise as to what I need and if the above parts I mentioned would both need to be replaced. The unit continues to feed water to the ice maker in spurts, so I assume that motor or devise is in good working order.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Brad

If your getting water up the water line to the tube connecting to the icemaker then you don’t need a new water inlet valve. Since the tube is frozen, my best guess is that the water inlet valve is fine. You need to set your freezer to a lower temperature. If that doesn’t work then you may need a new thermostat or thermister. Do you notice frost on the back wall of the freezer? You may also have a defrost issue. You may need a defrost element or a defrost thermostat
