Water Dispenser Slow

The in-door water dispenser on my Kenmore side-by-side has gotten progressively slower. I am thinking it might be corrosion at the point where the copper line attaches to the iron pipe. Or, maybe it is the valve at the dispenser end. I would appreciate any ideas as to what the problem is most likely to be. Thanks.

Does it have a inline filter?

Yes it does have an inline filter and I changed it with no effect on the water flow.

Sounds like the water valve is going out

Thanks, I was hoping maybe just some corrosion blocking the needle valve on the cold water pipe. I hadn’t thought of the valve until reading some posts here. I guess checking the connection on the iron pipe is the easiest thing to check first.

Sometimes that is it…Being a plumber have not had that be the problem very often

Thanks, now I just have to figure out where the valve is located and how to get to it.

you will need to pull your fridge out enough to get behind it.. follow the water supply line to where it connects to the fridge. you’ll need to remove the cover on the back of the fridge and your water supply line will connect directly to the water valve

Problem solved. We had our house totally re-piped and flow is back to normal. Apparently corrosion at the valve was restricting the flow.
