water collects at the bottom of freezer

Water collects at the bottom of my freezer, and then leaks out onto the kitchen floor (primarily at the front of the refrigerator). Water also collects across the entire base of the refrigerator side as well as the freezer side (not so much on the refrigerator side). It looks like a combination of condensation build up as well as water dripping from the freezer side. The water appears to be coming from the vent located at the bottom of the inner freezer. I’m not certain, but the coil at the very base of that vent appeared slightly red hot on one occasion. Ice has collected on the lower half of the entire vent as well. Just below that vent is a drain of some sort. Ice has collected on that area as well, making the drain nonfunctional. Someone suggested to me that my problem might be the defrost timer, whatever that is. Please let me know what you think the problem is so I can order the part or parts.

Most likely the problem is a clogged/frozen drain in the freezer. Every time during the defrost cycle the defrosted water should be drained out through the drain under the evaporator coils (#41 & #42 on the diagram).

Remove the rear panel in the freezer and defrost the drain using a heir dryer. Then run some hot water through the drain using a turkey baster.
