Our washer agiates very slowly but the fill, rinse, drain etc. all work ok. What makes it go so slow?

The first thing I would do is check the drive belts and the pump belt tension (instructions are attached).

In order to access the belts you have to remove the front panel by removing the two screws (#21 on the diagram) on the bottom of the front panel.
