Washer will not spin clothes dry

[FONT=Comic Sans MS][SIZE=4]The washer is not spinning fast enough to spin clothes dry, with a normal to heavy load it sounds like it spins but tub is not moving. when I spin it by hand during spin cycle it will spin very slowly and then stop. Can somemone help me I’m not sure yet if this particular problem is covered under my 10 year warranty [/SIZE][/FONT]

This is a Whirlpool made direct drive washer, and when you have the problem your machine is experiencing the clutch is usually the problem.
