The tub broke in the washer and have ordered a replacement.
in tearing down the tub retaining nut is tight from corrosion and before it tap on my wrench i need to find out if the nut holding the tub assy is r/h or l/h thread
the washer is a GE WASR3110 WOWW model
Please advise
That is a left hand thread, turn clockwise. You will never get it off unless you use the special spanner wrench WX5X1325, a bit pricey.
This page shows how to take the tub out. GE Washer Disassembly Guide
There is also a link to a spanner wrench that is alot cheaper and will work for your washer, it comes with an adapter you use for GE washers. I got one and it works well. I have one of the GE spanner wrenches and I have got to say they are better but it is a big price difference and you will most likely only be using it once or twice.
