This is a dispenser actuator failure indicating the main control can not identify what position the dispenser motor is in. Usually, this is caused by a dispenser actuator failure. If the top panel of the washer is removed and the power cord unplugged, the dispenser motor can be inspected and tested. The motor can be tested for resistance and it should measure between 1400-1600 Ohms. The connecting links can be checked for any indications of damage. If that checks good, reconnect everything except the top panel, plug the power cord in and start a wash cycle, then observe what the dispenser actuator does when the unit errors out. Let me know what you find.

Thank you!

Can I assume parts are available to order for this problem and are they in stock.

Looks like you stock this items. Is there a video tutorial and how easy is this fix. Please advise, thanks.

Just a quick update, ordered the part hoping I’m making the right choice, found the video, looks very easy. Thank you.

Testing this part would be the way to identifying if it has failed without installing a new part. WPW10352973 Dispenser Actuator | Genuine Whirlpool OEM In Stock

Agree, not sure I know how, even with your helpful guidance, we’re a big family and I want to cover myself in expediting the repair by ordering the part. Should have it by this Wednesday. Thank you.
