Washer stops mid cycle

Main Symptom:washer just stops
What happens & when: when selecting the wash cycle all the lights on the control panel will sometimes start flashing erratically and it will stop filling or sometimes it will stop after draining but won’t spin leaving soaking wet clothes. I can usually get it to start over again by unplugging it and plugging it back in and restarting it .

Error Code (if any):
Parts or tests already tried: I replaced the control panel a few years ago because of a start button issue

When the washer stops working, do you notice any LED flash pattern on the motor besides the normal ones — either 1 second on / 1 second off or 0.5 second on / 0.5 second off? That detail can help narrow down whether the issue is with the motor or the control system.
