My Kenmore 70 Series washer sometimes gets stuck going thru cycles.
Well after a load should be done, I open the lid and the washer is full of wash or rinse water, quiet and doing nothing.
If I let the lid slam down, then I see the control knob start to turn slowly clockwise, the machine starts pumping and then it goes thru the rest of the cycles. Looks like a sticky timer. Can it be oiled or lubricated or does it need to be replaced? Or is it something else?
You need to adjust or replace the lid switch.
:oIf I push the lid switch in/out manually nothing happens. If I close the lid gently, nothing happens. If I let the lid drop hard, sending vibrations thru the top of the washer, then the cycles resume.
Pretty likely to be the timer.

The main difference between a magician and a US savings bond: Evenetually, the savings bond matures…and starts making money.
