The knob spins like it should, and pulls, but it doesn’t spin the “dial” on the knob, and when you pull it, it doesn’t start the laundry. Is this just the knob or something else?
Wihtout a model number I can only give you the generic answer which is this. The ridges on the knob on GE models break, and replacing the knob is the cure. It does not cost very much and should fix your problem.
The knob is held on with a u shaped clip that pulls off from behing the knob.
The repair man said it was the timer & knob, he reinforced? the timer and replaced knob. Dunno how long it’ll work though.
The timers tend to break away from the bracket that holds them in, that may be what he reinforced.
It was like a metal bracket that he placed behind the timer, at least from my view thats what it looked like. Any idea how long that fix is suppose to hold?
Interesting. I have never seen that bracket break because it is usually the plastic tab that breaks. It should last forever.
