Brand:Maytag Model Number:2000 Main Symptom: broken pulley belt What happens & when:I ordered the part suggested and belt appears to be 2" short. I will add a few pictures. AI seems to think the motor can be loosened and pivot but that’s not possible on this model. The belt part number matches the old belt number only difference is where the belts were manufactured. not sure why it’s short or procedure to put belt on this model. Any ideas?

The simplest way to install the belt is with a zip tie.
Start by placing the belt around the large pulley. Position the zip tie securing the belt to the pully on the side opposite the direction you’ll be rotating the pulley, and slide it as far down toward the motor as it will go.
Next, work the belt onto the motor pulley. You may need to let the belt come slightly off the large pulley to get it started.
Slowly rotate the large pulley by hand while guiding the belt onto the motor pulley. As the pulley turns, the belt will walk itself into place.
Once the belt is fully seated on both pulleys, simply cut and remove the zip tie.
Finally, rotate the large pulley a few full turns by hand to make sure the belt is properly aligned and centered on both pulleys before restoring power.
