Washer fills and drain at the start!!!!!

:frowning: My washer is a little over 10yrs old. I never had to make a service call on the machine. In the last 4wks, my washer originally started having trouble with the spin cycle. It fills with water the same time it spins. A local appliance guy told me to replace the timer. However, I did purchase a new timer but the problem still exists. Now, I have noticed that the machine fills and drains at the same time at the start of the wash cycle. I need some assistant…PLEASE help!

You have an electric pump on this model, so take off the front panel and see if the pump is running when it is filling. If so, somethingis wrong in the wiring to the pump or at the timer. If not, you probably have some type of siphon action in the drain hose, it is too low or it is sealed off and no air can get into the drain pipe.

Thanks for the reply, we had an issue Saturday where the washer machine flooded my house. So, I gave in and brougt a new washer. I appreciate your response.
