Washer does not spin or agitate

Greetings all! I was looking for some input on an issue we are having with a washer. It’s only about 1.5 years old and stopped spinning and agitating. I was told most issues of this nature are caused by the lid switch/lock switch and after finding the tech manual and running diagnostics that’s what the washer told me too. So I replaced it and it’s still a no-go. The washer will go into sensing and make a “whir” noise every few seconds, but never spins. Upon further investigation I found another error in the diagnostic readout about a shifter error. I did the troubleshooting steps and now believe the shifter assembly to be bad. What do you guys think? Also, when searching for the part, the closest thing I get is a shifter actuator. Is that the same as the shifter assembly or are their more parts involved with the entire assembly?

Thanks!

Yes, the shift actuator is a very high failure item on these washers but loose connections and broken wires are also common. Tilt the machine back, remove the belt guard and make sure the nut holding the larger pulley is tight. Reseat the connectors on the motor, shift actuator, pump and capacitor. If you buy the shift actuator from APP, you can return it if it doesn’t solve the problem.
