Does this happen regardless of how many clothes are placed in the washer and regardless of what type of laundry is being loaded? If this is the case, use these steps to identify if there might be an error code that was stored by the control system.
Close the door
Rotate the cycle knob to the Clean Washer cycle
Within 5 seconds, press Cancel/Drain, Cancel/Drain, Start, Start
If this is done successfully, the door should lock while the display goes blank. Then the display should show two reverse r’s and a 0, indicating an EEPROM test. Once that is done, the display should change to two reverse r’s and an 8. This is the user interface test and all console LED lights should turn on except the Option LEDs. Press each option button one at a time to get through the user interface test portion of the diagnostic cycle. The rest of the diagnostic cycle will be automatically done by the system. If any F## codes appear on the display, what code shows up? If an error code does not show up at all, does the spin basket rotate freely by hand? Also, if you wiggle the spin basket up and down, then side to side, does the spacing between the spin basket and the outer tub change at all?
