Hi, normally, a bad pressure switch or a clogged pressure hose can cause the washer to start agitating before it fills because the machine thinks there’s already enough water in the tub. However, since your washer works properly on every other cycle and only has this issue on Cycle 8, I would suspect the timer rather than the pressure switch.
The timer has internal electrical contacts that control when the washer fills and agitates. If the contacts for Cycle 8 are worn or damaged, the washer may start agitating before filling with water.
I would recommend checking the timer first, along with its wiring connections. If the wiring is good and the timer isn’t sending power to the water valve when it should, the timer may need to be replaced.
It’s not working on the other cycles it drains when it should be washing and the guy we bought it from replaced the timer
