When washer gets to rinse and spin cycle the cycle doesen’t start and motor just makes a noise like it wants to but can’t. I have tried it on other settings such as easy care instead of regular cottons and same thing happens. Sometimes it will take off and fill with water and rinse. Can’t walk away from washer as afraid motor will burn up. What needs fixed?
You say, “sometimes it will take off and fill with water”, and you also talk about the motor just making a noise. The motor is not supposed to run during fill. At what point in the cycle does the problem occur? Normal sequence is, Wash- fill, agitate, drain, spin Rinse- fill, agitate, drain, spin. Where in that sequence is the problem?

Eric; thanks for the reply. It seems watching machine again when it gets to the drain and spin cycle it drains ok but seems a long time before it spins and I have been moving setting knob just a little to the right and then it spins. Is the washer working ok in your opinion or do I have a problem at all. Thanks.
I think it’s probably working ok. The water level pressure switch does have to be in the empty position for spin to occur and a clog in the tub air dome and/or hose could cause a delay in switch operation but manually advancing the timer would not overcome that problem. It may be a coincidence that you are advancing the timer at the same time that the pressure switch finally goes to the empty position. You can check for a clog by opening the front panel of the washer. The air dome is on the lower left side of the tub. Pull the air hose off of it and check it for gunk buildup and check the air dome as well. Only take the hose off when the tub is empty of water. The air dome is not removable so if it has gunk in it you can squirt some hot water through it with a turkey baster or something similar. Be careful, you don’t want to break the hose nipple off of the air dome.

Thanks Eric, tried a small load and it seemed to spin the tub after a certain small amount of time. Maybe its working correctly but I will check air dome like you suggested. Thanks.
