Unfortunately, you will need the model number to access the parts for that model. It could be a brake, clutch or possibly a gearcase, but the model number is needed to determine the parts used on this particular machine.
The model number is at the top of the message: Kenmore S6814700W00
but the washer is so old can’t find info anywhere. Hate to just through it away as it looks
like new (no rust anywhere) and has been very reliable.
Does it look like this?

Based on the information provided the model is likely 110.6814700, unfortunately the manufacturer has discontinued the drive parts for this machine and they are no longer available.
The controls have a slide cover so the outside doesn’t look like that.
But the pdf looks exactly like mine. This will be a help with disassembly. I’ll buy a new
machine but play around with the old one just to see what the problem is. If I find anything
I’ll report back. Thanks bigbuck1.
