We just bought a used washer–Maytag LA810. We can hear the motor hum whe we turn it on but cant get it to do anything else in any cycle. Did we shake something loose during the move or did we buy a piece of junk? 
Hard to tell. I would take off the front and see if the transmission pulley and pump will turn. You may have shaken something loose in the pump.
If the motor will run with the belts off and the pump turns free then it is likely something in the transmission and you probably did not get a good machine.
