My trash compactor makes a humming noise when I push up on the foot pedal to start it, but nothing else happens. I’ve checked the breaker, the on-off switch, but both of these work fine. Could it be the reset on the motor that is not operating properly? The last time I used it, I heard a pop about half way through the compacting, but it finished the cycle.
If the motor is running chk the gear drive, it could have broke.
