Since the problem occurs on all loads and cycles, this points more toward a mechanical or installation issue than a load-balance problem.

Most Likely Causes (in order)

  1. Washer not level

    • Verify all 4 feet are firmly on the floor.

    • Rock the washer corner-to-corner; there should be no movement.

    • Re-level front-to-back and side-to-side. GE specifically requires all leveling legs to contact the floor firmly.

  2. Suspension rods weak or damaged

    • Very common on this GE platform.

    • Worn suspension rods allow the tub to swing excessively and cause walking during spin.

    • This model uses suspension rod and spring assemblies to stabilize the tub.

  3. Shipping material left installed

    • If recently installed, verify all packing/shipping materials were removed during setup.

  4. Floor issue

    • Weak wood floors, uneven flooring, or washer sitting partly on grout transitions can cause walking even when the machine is level.

Quick Diagnostic

Open lid and push the basket/tub toward the rear and release.

  • Returns smoothly and centers itself → suspension likely OK.

  • Bounces several times, leans to one side, or feels loose → suspension rods are likely worn and should be replaced.
