I have a new Speed Queen top load washer the emits a high pitch back-and-forth squeak when agitating. Sounds like a violin string. The squeak seems to be loudest in the tub area. All other cycles are working fine. I would like to try to fix it myself. Any ideas? Thanks!
Your model number does not come up as an actual model, but you say this is new. If it is really new it should be under factory warranty. If it is ‘new’ to you but out of warranty check the model number and repost so we can see what you have.
But you should know that noises are one of the most difficult things to diagnose from afar so other than giving you some general guidelines that will probably be of limited value we may not be able to help very much.
Thanks for the response. The problem appears to be a lack of lubricant on the agitator drive bell, according to Speed Queen factory tech. I was hoping to do this myself but have called in a repair service.
Okay good, thanks for updating us and good luck.
