no matter how big or small the load size, the clothes are still soaked at the end of the cycle. have to put in an additional drain spin cycle. only then is the load adequately spun dryed.
Does it spin every time when you manually set it to spin after the cycle end? If you look at the water as it pumps out from the drain hose, does the water stream seem pretty forceful and fill the hose or a partial, weak stream?

yes, it spins every time when I change to “spin” at the end of the cycle. It does seem to be pumping adequately but what do I know. I have not watched it through the initial spin cycle. so I don’t know for sure if it is or is not pumping out the water before the timer stops or advances.
Well, if it spins out every time you set it manually, I suspect the issue may be slow draining, not pumping out fast enough. Can you fill the tub and the drain it out, watching at how fast the water pumps out as it drains?
yes, i will give it a go. so are you thinking bad pump assy? I will let you know tomorrow what i find. thank you for all your help.
Yes, or a partially obstructed drain path/pump. That it spins and does okay if set to another spin cycle manually suggests the mechanics of the other components are okay, but we will know more when we see what the pump is doing for certain.

I watched it go thru a complete wash cycle, from start to finish. when it got to the final cycle (fill, rinse, spin) it filled the tub with rinse water agitated for a bit then it pumped the water out and spun for a bit. After a pause, it started to fill for a minute or so than stopped filling and the cycle ended. I did notice that as it was in it’s last fill cycle prior to ending that, the lid lock unlocked it self and the led indicator (lid lock) flashed continuously for about 3 minutes until the cycle ended. now I’m even more confused.
That sounds like a confused control, especially the adding water after spinning. Try unplugging the machine for about 15 minutes and see if that changes how it acts at the end of the cycle.
ok, i will give that a try. i will let you know how that turns out
