Top/Bottom Refridgerator and Freezer not cooling

Hello Everyone,

My Maytag Plus Dual Cool MTB2156GE Refrigerator/Freezer is suddenly not cooling. We were gone all day today and we came up to a completely melted freezer and what seemed to be a room tempature fridge. We would greatly appreciate some advise on this issue as times are hard right not financially and everything in our home seems to be breaking!

Here’s what I know:
• There didn’t seem to be a frost build up on the coils or anywhere. However, everything was melted by the time I noticed so maybe there once was.
 • The lights are turning on/off properly.
 • The Feezeer fan is blowing, but is blowing room tempature air
 • I have played with the cool settings of both the fridge and freezer and that does not seem to have any affect anything.
 • I took off the back and the wiring looks clean and normal (no build up anywhere) from what I can tell but I am no electrician.
I do not know how old the appliance is as we just moved in about a year ago but up until now it has worked flawlessly. Again, any help would be so greatly appreciated! I would be glad to take a picture of anything that would be helpful and post it if that would help.

Look forward to hearing back! Thanks!

Bryson

Here are your parts includes a wiring diagram.

Your model number was short a digit so I used BEG

Check to see if the compressor and the condenser (compressor) fan are running.

As you can see in the wiring diagram both the above are wired in parallel with the freezer fan so when it is on they should be on.
The compressor should be warm, you can usually hear it and fell it vibrating.

Thanks for the reply!

I am at work this morning so I cannot check on those things until I get home this afternoon. After I check that out I will post again and let you know.

Any other suggestions?
