I have a Kenmore Coldspot Elite (model # 10653603201)that was given to me because it keeps freezing the milk. They had a repairman look at it, he said it was a chip that was no longer made. I’m wondering if it could possibly be the defrost thermostat. Any ideas would be helpful.
In the fresh food section, top left all the way in the back, is the air diffuser. It controls the air flow from the freezer into the fresh food section. I would start with checking to be sure it has a full range of motion and hasn’t gotten stuck or fallen apart. The other thing to check is the thermistor in the same area. Ohm it out and see if it’s within spec. If all that checks out ok, then you need a new board. It is no longer being produced, but is available as a refurbished part. The part number for it is 2220514. You can google that number and hit shopping to find a refurb one if it comes to that.
