Just thought I would let everybody know… I got no help and looks like nobody really gets any help. Why have a forum to help people and not help anybody?
Just my 2 cents…

I am sorry you feel that way, your washer is 37 years old. I know the part you are talking about, I can’t remember what it is called but I do know this…after such a long time, that part can collect quite a bit of Junk. You will probably not be able to find a new part so, cleaning that one is about your only option. It has a diaphram that allow air to “Burp” out. When it gets clogged in the open position normal pump action allows water to burp out. That’s your leak. If after you back flush it, (Remove it then reinstall) you still have a problem, I’m sorry, there is no other short fix. You would have to modify the drain system and that gets complicated.
thet helped me

it would help if you looked at your own thread.

Looks to me that applianceman tried to help 14 hours before you started this thread.
Anyways there are not many regular posters here and sometimes we do miss or do not know the answer to some help requests.
I personally do not know much about washing machines.
PS: Thousands of people have been helped on this forum.
Sorry you are upset but ragging on us accomplishes nothing.

Glad to hear that you are up and running and that the forum was able to help you.
Also thanks for replying back now the next person who searches for this problem will know that the fix actually worked.
PS: My comments were directed at “waterwolves” not you.
It is just that most of the forum’s regular posters are volunteers and I get angry when people rag on them, when they are trying their best.
I was just venting.
Thanks again

Just another DIY’er volunteer with some time to spare.
thanks for your input and i know what you mean. goodluck and have a good one.
there are other forums as an alternative. selfhelpforums.com gave me an answer in a couple hours..might be worth checking out!

Personally I think this forum answers questions better than any other forum I have been on (not to knock other forums).

Yes it is true some don’t get answered and I believe it is because of the sheer numbers of questions being asked. I mean this forum gets a ton especially in the washer section.

You got to understand people don’t want to answer a question unless they feel they can answer intelligently. For example I am basically a GE repairman that knows a lot about Whirlpool and some about Maytag particularly about older ones. But I wouldn’t even look at a question about a Frigidaire washer. I am sure that other regulars are the same way. So some questions slip through the cracks so to speak but that isn’t grounds for saying this forum sucks.
you got that right. I agree!!!
