thermistor

I have a GE fridge/freezer that is about 6 years old. I noticed the temp is not cool enough in both the freezer and the refrigerator compartments. I got the diagnostic book off of this site and followed the flow chart. I did a thermistor check and got a failed result on the freezer and refrigerator thermistors. I checked them out by placing them in a cup of ice water and taking a resistance reading. Both returned ~16k. I also placed a thermometer in the unit and took a voltage reading and compared to the temp chart in the guide. Those readings were fine too. I also checked for 5vdc and it was fine as well. Sooo does this mean the main board is shot. All my reading were taken at the j1 connector so the wiring should be ok too. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Measure the stabilized freezer temperature and post, should be blow zero if running a lot.

The current temp in the freezer is 30 degrees. I hear fans blowing the refer damper is also open. Since the thermistors are working I am thinking that the mainboard might need replacing. Is there a test i can do on the mainboard?

thanks

If the fridg will keep running and the freezer temp is only 30 degrees, you have refrigeration problems for a pro to look at.
