I’m yet another person who is having issues with my Thermador XLO burners. When I started I had 1 burner that didn’t work, and 1 that worked but occasionally made a loud buzzing sound when lit. I installed the new potentiometers and simmer control kit, which was reasonably easy, but now neither of the burners works. I did turn off the power when I was working on it, so there should be no issue with damage from a short as I read in another thread.
I don’t get any gas flow or spark at either burner when I turn the knob, but I do get spark at both burners when I turn one of the other working burners on.
Here are my questions:
How can I test the solenoids to see if they are functional?
If the burners spark when I turn other burners on, does that mean the spark module is OK?
What else could be the culprit?
I really appreciate any help anyone will give me. I’m a pretty mechanically and electronically inclined person, but have little experience with appliances.
[quote=Gene;217728]Very likely there is something wrong with the parts you installed. What are the part numbers of the new parts?
Double check the installation and connections ms.

The part numbers are:
Kit: 497234
Pot: 422748
Simmer Control: 422882
These show as the proper parts for this model in the included “Service Bulletin”. I did the 1 wire at a time method when I swapped the simmer controller, and triple checked all of the connections.
The pot seems like a pretty simple part, and unlikely that both would be bad. So if anything is bad it would likely be the simmer controller. Are there any other parts I should check?
